Montrose Cultural Centre drainage repairs start Monday

Work to address issues with drainage at the Montrose Cultural Centre starts Monday. The building is moving, causing the sidewalks to shift and crack, meaning water is draining into areas around the facility.

The original grading is being corrected at a cost of $650,000 to the city, and legal options are being considered.

The work is expected to wrap up in September. Until then, a temporary entrance will be set up through the Teresa Sargent Hall, and while the north side parking will be unavailable, the underground parkade will stay open.
