The town of Beaverlodge has approved their budget for the coming year, including $198,000 in additional funding requirements.
The goal in creating the 2015 budget was to maintain services and programs already being provided to the community while mitigating tax increases from cuts in provincial funding.
The town’s portion of the tax increase will be worth 2.5 per cent, but the total increase will be 2.9 per cent with the Provincial Education Requisition included, which will mean an increase of $29.43 per $100,00 of assessed value.
The budge includes funding for a commercial kitchen at the new St Mary School, road paving, new ball fields, and upgrades to the water treatment plant.
