Former Grande Prairie mayor passes

A former Grande Prairie mayor has passed away. John Francis Boyle died Friday, April 24th in Calgary, at the age of 85.

Boyle’s family lived in the Swan City when he was young, and he and his wife moved back to raise a family. They ran Boyle’s Hatchery for years, but after he retired, he went into politics, and spent three terms as a city councillor, as well as mayor.

Boyle and his wife moved to Okotoks a few years ago to be closer to family. He’s remembered as a dedicated family man who worked tirelessly to make his community a better place.
