Four-and-a-half years for attempted murder

Cory Haddock will spend almost another two and a half years in prison for the attempted murder of a man in December 2013. The 24 year old plead guilty to the charge last month, and received a four year, five month sentence Monday, with credit for time served since his arrest. He was also handed down a two year firearm prohibition.

Haddock was taken into custody after police were called to a downtown housing complex, and found a man with a severe stab wound to his neck. He was taken to hospital in serious condition.

Last year, Haddock was sentenced to 16 days in jail for assaulting a police officer outside a bar, which he served pre-trial.
