More than 300 speeding tickets handed out over long weekend

More than 360 traffic tickets were handed out by officers around Grande Prairie last weekend.

Nearly 90 per cent of them were for speeding, but there were a good number of expired registrations, no seatbelts, and distracted driving offences.

Three suspended drivers were turned up, and one 72 hour suspension was handed out.

The RCMP’s Integrated Traffic Unit maintains catching aggressive and unsafe drivers is one of its top priorities.

Its efforts are focused on long weekends like Easter.
