Three more arrested in Peace River prison drug smuggling investigation

Three more people have been arrested for their alleged involvement in an operation aimed at smuggling drugs into the Peace River Correctional Centre.

In March of last year a correctional peace officer and two other people were charged for attempting to smuggle in marijuana, oxycodone pills, and methamphetamine.

Now the ALERT investigation has uncovered information suggesting that 38 year old former inmate William Blackwood, 38 year old Farrah Hackey, and 34 year old Shauna Cunningham may have been involved as well.

All three are facing charges of conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine and marijuana.

ALERT’s investigation alleges that the smuggling operation included a corrections officer, an inmate, and people on the outside who were working together to facilitate the distribution of drugs inside the correctional centre.
