UPDATE: Clairmont shooting suspect in custody

UPDATE #4: Police have taken the shooting suspect into custody without incident. No shots were fired by officers. The suspect has been identified as a 58 year old man from Grande Prairie. He has been taken to the local RCMP detachment where he will be charged. The Halliburton building and the surrounding area have been searched and no injuries reported.

UPDATE #3: Police are still on the hunt for the shooter. The public is asked to avoid the area of surrounding the Halliburton site near 102nd Street and 70th Avenue in Clairmont. More police resources are on the way.

UPDATE #2: RCMP has confirmed they are responding to reports of a lone shooter firing several rounds near a Halliburton building in Clairmont at 7:50 p.m. Although there were several people in the area at the time, no injuries have been reported. The area has been secured and all police resources have been dispatched. The identity of the shooter is unknown at this point.

UPDATE: Traffic is not being allowed east past the Highway 2 overpass on Highway 43x.

Grande Prairie RCMP is responding to reports of shots fired at a business just west of Clairmont.

There is a significant police presence in the area and the roads surrounding Halliburton are blocked off.
