Ice front moves through Town of Peace River

The ice front on the Peace River moved through the Town of Peace River last night.

It’s now downstream on the Highway 2 bridge, but the province warns there could still be ice jamming and changes to water levels.

The ice covers on the Smoky and Heart Rivers are still breaking up, so ice runs could still pass through the Town over the next few days.

A River Breakup Advisory remains in effect for the region.
