Local cross-country superstar Mirelle Martens is in China competing in the IAAF World Cross Country Championships.
Grande Prairie’s Female Athlete of the Year will be running the six kilometre race, which starts at 10 p.m. Mountain Standard Time.
Martens qualified for the national junior female cross-country team last November, and travelled to the Pan-American Cross Country Cup in Columbia in February, where she placed 24th.
She was also a rookie on this year’s GPRC Wolves team.
