Road and weather conditions have been ruled out but RCMP say they are investigating whether or not alcohol played a factor in the pick-up colliding with the semi.

The highway was closed for several hours this morning but has since been reopened.

The Grovedale Fire Department is reporting that Highway 40 is closed down at the Canfor Road intersection due to a motor vehicle incident.

STARS Air Ambulance was dispatched to the area an hour ago.

We’ll update as we learn more.
