Grande Prairie pair arrested at Sault Ste. Marie border crossing

A couple from Grande Prairie has been arrested after taking a wrong turn at the US Port of Entry near Sault Ste. Marie.

RCMP say on March 11 the two were driving a blue Ford Focus with Alberta plates when they approached the Canada Border Services Booth from the U.S. side, saying they wanted to return to Canada.

The vehicle was searched, turning up Oxycodone tablets, drug paraphernalia, and stolen IDs.

They also discovered that the two had given fake names to the CBSA officers.

25 year old Kimberly Jo Rose Bowser has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of an identity document, obstructing an officer, possession of stolen property, and two counts of personation.

23 year old Todd Donald Deschamps is also facing drug possession, obstruction, and unlawful possession of identity document charges.
