Power outages reported as storm sweeps through Grande Prairie area

A handful of power outages have been reported in the Grande Prairie area after strong wind, rain, and snow hit the region Tuesday afternoon. Among the areas affected are Mountview and Crystal Heights in Grande Prairie and some of Wembley with ATCO Electric saying the estimated repair time is 6:30 p.m.

The weather turned a little before 4 p.m. with wind gusts of 109 kilometres per hour recorded at the Grande Prairie Airport around 4:20 p.m. Some damage was reported, including to the siding of the Stanford Inn.
