Starting next fall, diploma exams will only be worth 30 per cent of grade 12 students’ grades.
That’s down from the current 50 per cent, as Education Minister Gordon Dirks says it will better reflect what they’ve learned all year through classroom assessments, which will now be worth 70 per cent.
Also announced today is 24 more dual credit partnerships, allowing students to earn post-secondary credits or workplace certification while still in high school.
The additions include carpentry, welding, esthetics an accounting.
