UPDATE: The hold and secure protocol at I.V. Macklin, Hillside, and Holy Cross schools has been lifted.
Three Grande Prairie schools have been placed under hold and secure protocol after reports of someone walking around with a firearm.
RCMP Corporal Roy Kennedy says there is no threat to the students at I.V. Macklin, Holy Cross or Hillside, but they’re taking the precaution as it is the lunch hour.
Police are investigating a complaint of someone seen with a firearm, but maintain there is no threat to the schools.
