Beaverlodge Elementary to take over Junior Kindergarten

Beaverlodge Elementary School will be taking over Junior Kindergarten programming this fall.

It was previously run by the Beaverlodge Playschool Society, but is board is being dissolved at the end of this school year.

Society President Tamara McCullum says they believe this is a good move, as the school has more resources that could better the learning for young children.

Starting this September, Beaverlodge-area children turning four this year can attend either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, with room for 20 students per class.

Principal Paul Cincurak says they’ll still keep the “learn through play” philosophy that current program has, with the focus shifting to Kindergarten prep near the end of the 33 weeks.

Beaverlodge Elementary will take over everything from staffing, registration and programming.
