Two Peace Wapiti School Division students are headed to Ottawa this weekend for the Forum for Young Canadians.
The week-long event gives youth aged 15 to 19 a first-hand look at how national politics and public affairs work on Parliament Hill. Grade 9 students at Helen E. Taylor School in Wembley were picked for the group of 87 students from across the country, and will be accompanied by their social studies teachers.
In addition to networking and bettering their French, they’ll also be participating in discussions, including a simulation exercise where they’ll try to export a product to another country.
Rounding out the trip is a tour of Parliament and the war memorial.
