Two children injured in school bus crash sent to Edmonton

Peace Wapiti Public School Division has confirmed two of the children injured in the school bus crash near Beaverlodge Tuesday were sent to hospital in Edmonton for further treatment.

In total, 10 of the 11 students on board were taken to hospital with various injuries.

Some have since been released. Previous reports indicated there were 12 students.

The bus driver and the driver of the semi truck that hit the bus were not seriously injured.

The crash occured at Township Road 722 and Highway 723 around 4 p.m.

Police investigation continues, although drugs and alcohol have been ruled out as factors.
