Local athletes rack up 3 medals at Canada Winter Games

The Alberta men’s hockey team wrapped up the Canada Winter Games in Prince George over the weekend scoring one last medal for Alberta.

Grande Prairie’s Logan Mazerolle and the rest of the team earned a silver medal after losing to Ontario 3-1 in the final yesterday.

That’s two hockey medals for local athletes as Jolene Debruyn took bronze with the ladies team early on in the games.

Grande Prairie’s third athlete competing in at the Canada Winter Games, Kennedi Deck, is bringing home a bronze medal earned in the ladies Snowboarding Slope style event.

Alberta wrapped up the games with 75 medals in total, finishing 4th in the standings.
