Tickets handed out by the RCMP Enhanced Policing Unit last year were down from their numbers in 2013.
In a report to county of Grande Prairie Council on Monday, Regional Enforcement services told council that the 552 traffic violation tickets handed out in 2014 was actually 18 per cent less than the roughly 650 that were handed out in 2013.
For the coming year, the policing unit will turn their focus even more so to infractions like impaired driving, intersections, speeding, distracted driving, and seat belt safety .
