The province now says it is looking at a surplus.
In January, a $500 million deficit was projected thanks to plummeting oil prices, but Finance Minister Robin Campbell has released third-quarter numbers that show a potential $465 million surplus for the 2014-2015 fiscal year.
Campbell attributes the bounce back to higher than expected investment income, as well as flood relief money from the federal government.
