Prelim determines Babitsch will face trial

Last week’s preliminary hearing for 23 year old Shane Babitsch has helped the court determine that there is enough evidence to send the case to trial.

Babitsch was arrested and charged with first degree murder in the death of 26 year old Courtney Johnstone last February.

The woman’s body was found at the Aquatera Waste Management site three weeks after she was reported missing.

As well, additional charges of Criminal Negligence Causing Death and Indignity to a Human Body were laid during the hearing. A trial date has not yet been set.
