Little Chefs program saved by EWI Grande Prairie

A program that encourages literacy in children will remain available to Grande Prairie families thanks to the local chapter of Executive Women International.

The Parent Link’s Little Chefs program had to be cut earlier this year because of government cutbacks.

Sheila Hatton is the Literacy Chair for EWI. She says the sixweek program only required a $500 donation.

“Each week they get a different book, and the child and the parent cook a recipe during the class and then they get to take the book home, so that fell within our interests with EWI.”

Hatton says the next program that parents can sign up for will be sometime in April.
