UPDATE: Grande Prairie’s Debruyn wins Canada Winter Games bronze

UPDATE: Team Alberta beat Team Saskatchewan 5-3 to win the bronze medal. Debruyn was not in net for the final game. 

Grande Prairie’s Jolene Debruyn will be playing for the women’s hockey bronze medal this afternoon at the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George.

The team went undefeated through the round robin and quarterfinals, but fell to Ontario 5-2 in the semis.

Goalie Debruyn stopped 28 of 32 shots in her third game of the tournament.

Alberta will be taking on Saskatchewan for the bronze with the puck drop at 5 p.m. local time.

Also from Grande Prairie, Logan Mazerolle and the men’s hockey team will play their first game Sunday, while Kennedi Deck starts snowboarding later this week.
