Preliminary hearing for Babitsch begins today

The next four days have been set aside for a preliminary hearing for the 23 year old man charged with first degree murder in the death of Courtney Johnstone.

The remains of the 26 year old woman were found at the Aquatera Waste Management Facility a year ago on February 15, 2015. Even before the remains were found, Shane Babitsch was charged with first degree murder.

The preliminary hearing will determine if there is enough evidence, and whether or not the crown and prosecution are ready to go to trial.
