A group of individuals and businesses have been thanked for all they do to help others in the Peace region.
Community Social Development and Family Community Support Services in the County of Grande Prairie, Sexsmith, Wembley, Beaverlodge, and Hythe handed out 10 Passionate Heart Awards during a luncheon today, which recognize outstanding contributions in the area of social services.
Exceptional Team Awards went to Hythe Regional School counsellors and the Grande Prairie Family Education Society.
Meanwhile the Passionate Heart Business Award went to Ackman Legge of Staples.
Exceptional Service Awards went to six people this year, including members of PACE and HIV North.
Meanwhile, Barbara Campbell of the Suicide Prevention Resource Centre took home the Chris Henderson Lifetime Service Award.
County FCSS Director Kathleen Turner says she was impressed by the quality of this year’s nominations.
