Whitecourt snowmobile rally breaks world record

More than a thousand snowmobiles and their riders gathered in Whitecourt last night in hopes of breaking a world record.

The Guinness World Record for the largest snowmobile parade is currently 847, set by a group in Ontario.

Organizers of the 2015 Snowmobile Invasion say their final sled tally was 1044.

Sledders came from as far away as British Columbia and the United States to take part.

The Whitecourt Trailblazers Snowmobile Club has lots more planned for this weekend as well, including the Freestyle Show this evening and the World Snowmobile Rally and Showcase.
