Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation fatal shooting suspect charged with manslaughter

The man arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 34 year old Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation woman has been charged with manslaughter with a firearm.

20 year old Giovanni James Alexis was taken into custody Sunday, after 34 year old Shawna Paul was found dead in a vehicle in the early morning hours.

An autopsy has confirmed that she died as a result of a single gunshot wound.

Alexis will be in court on Thursday to answer to the manslaughter charge, along with Criminal Negligence Causing Death, Careless use of a Firearm, and other firearms offences.
