UPDATE: RCMP has arrested a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting. Their name and charges have not yet been released.
A 34 year old woman from the Alexis Nakota Sioux First Nation has shot dead in a vehicle.
Mayerthorpe RCMP found her earlier today, but already, investigators believe the person responsible for her death was known to her.
The firearm used has also been found.
Edmonton Major Crimes Unit and the Forensic Identification Section are helping look into what lead to the shooting and an autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
