MLAs Drysdale and Oberle acclaimed as PC Party nominees

Wayne Drysdale and Frank Oberle will represent the Alberta PC Party in the next provincial election.

The Grande Prairie – Wapiti and Peace River MLAs were acclaimed as the only members seeking nomination in their constituencies.

The Progressive Conservative Association has so far opened up candidate nominations in 61 out of 87 constituencies, amid rumours that an election may be called for this spring.

In Peace River, the call for nominations will close on February 14th.

MLA Everett McDonald has put his name forward, but if anyone challenges him, a vote will be held on February 28th.

Hector Goudreau, representative for Dunvegan-Central Peace-Notley, has said he will not run again after holding the position since 2001.
