Volunteer efforts of local ski patrollers recognized

The Nitehawk Recreation area is celebrating Canadian Ski Patrol day tomorrow.

Nationally, there are more than 4,500 ski patrollers.

Here in Grande Prairie, ski patrollers enable the safe use of facilities like the Nitehawk Ski Hill and the Wapiti Nordic trails, volunteering as many as 7,000 hours each year.

Celebrations recognizing all the hard work of ski patrollers will be held between 12 and 2 p.m. out at Nitehawk.
