February is heart month across the country, and the Heart and Stroke Foundation has kicked off their annual fundraising campaign.
Area Manager Margaret Bell says this month is also about making people aware of the foundation, and about the importance of heart health.
“It’s making people aware of what we do, the funding that we put into research. Last year we actually invested $38 Million in research, supporting 1500 researchers across Canada, and we’re creating more survivors every day from heart disease and stroke.”
On February 14 the Foundation is hosting a Walk for Hearth at the Eastlink Centre with Body Break’s Hal and Joanne.
