Grande Prairie unofficially hits record low temperature Monday

It was a cold morning in Grande Prairie yesterday.

Unofficially, temperatures dropped to -34 degrees, below the previous record low of -33.4 set in 1994.

While it hovered around that mark in the 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. hours, the day also warmed up to -12.2 by 5 p.m.

More cold weather is on the way, with a low of -36 forecast for Friday night.
