City settles debt with Grande Prairie Gymniks

The City of Grande Prairie has forgiven the last two mortgage payments for the local Gymnastics Society.

Back in 2005 when the Eastlink Centre was being built, it was agreed that half of the costs saved by building on to the Gymniks facility would be refunded to the society.

The two parties have had a hard time coming to an agreement on how much those savings were, but they’ve now settled on the two mortgage payments of nearly $97,000 each for December 2014 and June 2015.

The plan was approved at Monday’s city council meeting.
