UPDATE: Both eastbound lanes of Highway 43 near Range Road 81 are now open after a fatal collision with a pedestrian this morning.
UPDATE: Police were called to the scene of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian around 8 am this morning. RCMP say the pedestrian had been walking on Highway 43 near Range Road 81, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV was not injured. A collision analyst has yet to determine what caused the collision, and traffic in the area has been released to one lane to allow police to investigate. The name of the deceased will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
Grande Prairie RCMP is investigating a fatal collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian this morning.
The crash occurred on Highway 43 near Range Road 81.
