City, county crews cleaning up after recent snowfall

Snow removal crews in the city and county of Grande Prairie are cleaning up after the area’s latest snowfall.

Crews in the city are currently plowing priority 1 routes and will continue to do so throughout the weekend. Clearing of priority 2 routes is expected to begin on Monday, December 16th. They are also actively patrolling priority roads for icy areas. Parking bans are still in place.

County crews will begin clearing snow in residential areas in Clairmont between 100 and 113 Avenue next week. After that is done, they will move onto the subdivisions of Westlake Estates and Whispering Ridge followed by Wedgewood, Maple Ridge and Taylor Estates.

Temporary parking restrictions will be put into place in Clairmont over the weekend. When no parking signs are visible, parking on streets is not allowed between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Vehicles left on the street may be ticketed or towed.
