Grande Prairie man charged after drugs, guns seized in central Alberta

A Grande Prairie man is one of six people facing charges after a Red Deer RCMP investigation lead to the seizure of drugs, cash, guns, and vehicles.

On November 26th, Search warrants were executed at properties in Red Deer, Blackfalds, and Sylvan Lake, and with the help of the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team, police say they found 1351 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine, 353 grams of a substance believed to be meth and over 300 grams of what is believed to be fentanyl.

Police also found a large sum of Canadian currency, two guns, and five vehicles, including one which contained a hidden compartment allegedly used in transporting drugs from British Columbia to Red Deer and surrounding areas.

38-year-old Curtis Augustus of Grande Prairie is one of six people facing charges, including possession for the purposes of trafficking.

Also facing charges are 33-year-old Aaron Capp of Cold Lake, 32-year old Justin John Goodhand of Medicine Hat, 26-year-old Ilija Rade Jahura of Kelowna, 33-year-old Denni Allen Martin of Surrey, and 29-year-old Shawna Lori Willier of Edmonton.
