Two charged after a firearm allegedly discharged in a Grande Prairie home

Grande Prairie RCMP has charged two people after a gun was shot in a home in the Lakeland neighbourhood.

Police say they were called to the residence on November 24th after reports of shots fired. An investigation revealed a shot had been fired from the top floor of the home into the lower level.

A further search outside the property turned up a prohibited firearm, along with a shotgun and rifle ammunition. After getting a search warrant for the house, police say they also found stolen mail, cocaine, electronics, jewelry and clothes that were stolen the previous day.

21-year-old Dylan Sutton and 25-year-old Chris Howat, both of Grande Prairie, are facing charges of recklessly discharging a firearm, among other offences. Police say no one was injured as a result of the gunshot.
