Western Alberta unemployment rate drops to 5.7 per cent

The unemployment rate in western Alberta dropped for the month of November. Statistics Canada says the economic region which houses Grande Prairie and Peace River sat at 5.7 per cent for the month, down from 5.8 in October, but up from 4.6 per cent from November 2018.

Alberta’s overall unemployment rate meanwhile increased to 7.2 per cent from 6.7 per cent in October. The Canadian national also increased to 5.9 per cent, from 5.6 per cent in October.
