Art Development funding applications now available

Artists throughout Grande Prairie can now apply to get a piece of Major Project and Festival Funding as the city has opened the application for the Arts Development Fund.

For those looking at major project funding, they must be based in the community or immediate area, demonstrated a level of achievement in their discipline and explain how the project will attain the next level of artistic development.

Officials say the funding will help support programs and projects which foster and promote the enjoyment of visual, literary and performing arts by local artists and groups.

The Festival Funding, meanwhile, supports not-for-profit groups organizing local festivals and will be handed out in a one-time payment to those projects that meet the requirements for the entertainment value of the event, the cultural and artistic benefit to the community and its ability to attract visitors to the area.

The deadline to apply is set for January 1st, 2020. More details can be found on the City of Grande Prairie website.
