Rosenau Transport looking to support food banks with annual campaign

Rosenau Transport in Grande Prairie will once again try to fill a transport truck for local food banks this holiday season. For the 18th year, a 53-foot trailer will be stationed in the parking lot of the Grande Prairie Superstore collecting non-perishable food items and baby supplies.

“We know that it’s important for everybody to have nutritious food, to have the availability of food no matter their circumstances, so the goal was to help everybody out,” says Office Administrator Sheila Hollier.

The yearly food drive is held in each city that has a Rosenau Transport location including Dawson Creek, Edmonton and Calgary.

Hollier says they are really looking for any items without a perishable date including canned goods, boxed goods, dry goods, diapers, forumla and wipes.

All the items collected in Grande Prairie will stay in Grande Prairie and get distributed to place like The Salvation Army and the Grande Prairie Food Bank.

Hollier adds that they have been able to fill the trailer every year they’ve done it and hope to continue that tradition this year.

“We have had success every year of filling the 53 feet; there hasn’t been one year that we have been short. The community is wonderful at helping us with that.”

Items can be dropped off at the trailer November 30th and December 1st from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
