People in the Town of Peace River are preparing to celebrate the town’s 100th birthday. A party will be held at the Baytex Energy Centre on December 1st starting at 1 p.m.
There are a number of activities planned for the day including musical guests Jeff & Suzanne McCann, The Croakin’ Four and the Peace River Community Choir.
At 1:45 p.m. there will be a ceremonial re-signing the town’s certificate of incorporation and staff will also seal the Centennial Time Capsule, which will be opened in 50 years.
At 2:45 p.m. there will be cake and more musical performances. Following that there will be a free skate at the Baytex Energy Centre from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and a free swim at the Peace Regional Pool from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
