Nitehawk Year-Round Adventure Park preparing for soft opening

People will soon be able to hit the slopes at Nitehawk Year-Round Adventure Park. The park will have its soft opening on November 16th. Assistant General Manager Johnathan Clarkson says they are actually ahead of schedule despite just starting to make snow four days ago.

“We’re actually ahead of schedule in terms of the terrain that we thought we would have open for this opening weekend. People can come out and expect to have Will-o-way, Bob’s Bump, the terrain park and then all four lanes in the tube zone.”

This opening weekend is in line with some of the earliest soft openings the park has ever experienced. In 2017, the slopes opened on November 18th, more than a week earlier than in 2016.

Despite the recent snowfall, Clarkson says he’s hoping to get Mother Nature to be more cooperative moving forward.

“We do require at least a temperature between minus 7 and minus 8 continuously throughout the day and evening in order to continue to make snow so we are looking for those temperatures again to start back up again and continue making snow on other runs.”

Clarkson says the park should stay open until the end of March or the first week of April 2020.
