Seven Generations Energy breaks ground on $28M office building

Seven Generations Energy is about to start its next project in Grande Prairie. On Friday, the company broke ground on its new $28 million office building near 118 Street and 101 Avenue.

President and CEO Marty Proctor says the new space will be about 60,000 square feet and will be a space for all 175 local employees to work under one roof.

“We’ve been spread out in a few different buildings and it’s always a little less efficient to communicate when you’re not in the same place. Part of it was to get a good space for our team to be more comfortable in their work but also so we can collaborate better.”

Construction on the building is set to start during the first week of November and take about 17 months to complete with an opening date scheduled for April 2021. Proctor says they wanted to build this because he believes this area is worth the investment.

“It’s important to us to make Grande Prairie more of a home for us where we have a single office where we can all come and collaborate together and be even more of a part of the community then we’ve been.”

The total cost of the project with the building and the land is currently sitting at around $35 million.
