Safety tips to keep little ghosts safe this Halloween night

Grande Prairie RCMP wants to make sure all children get home safe this Halloween. With the special night quickly approaching, the detachment has released some tips for children and parents.

Some safety tips include making sure ghosts and goblins use crosswalks and obey road rules, never let children go into a house or for candy and always travel in groups, and make sure they wait until someone checks their candy before eating it.

Costumes should fit properly so that they don’t cause trips or falls. If the costume has a mask, make sure it doesn’t block their vision and make sure all children have a flashlight or glowstick so that they are visible to cars.

Drivers should also slow down and stay alert, especially in residential neighbourhoods as children may be excited and not paying attention.
