Local businesses honoured at Chamber awards

Nine local businesses have been recognized at the Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce’s annual Awards of Distinction. Coming out of the night with not one, but two awards was Crowned Beauty, which was recognized in both the Diversity and Customer Service Categories.

Oliver’s Funeral Home and Crematorium was named Small Business of the Year with 10-50 employees, while the award for a business with under 10 employees went to Shinez Auto Detailing.

Once Upon A Child walked away with the Entrepreneur of the Year recognition, while Made-By-Africans received the Mentorship award, and CFWE FM took the Indigenous category. Rounding out the event was Broken Oak Distilling Co. taking the Marketing award, Cree8iv Ink Body Studio taking the Leading Edge award, and Verve Marketing winning the Community Attraction award for the Grande Prairie Woman’s Show.

The trophies were handed out Thursday night, officially wrapping up Small Business Week in Grande Prairie.
