Impaired driving charges laid after Highway 43 hit and run

A 23 year old man from Grande Prairie is facing charges stemming from a hit and run near Beaverlodge Sunday.

Around 11 p.m., police found a vehicle on Highway 43 with extensive damage to its rear, and a male driver that needed to be taken to hospital for treatment.

The other vehicle reportedly fled the seen in the direction of Grande Prairie.

About 20 minutes later, RCMP stopped a truck with damage to its front end at 104th Avenue and 92nd Street, after receiving a tip about a pickup driving with a flat tire.

The driver, Paul Thomas Hahn, has been arrested and charged with impaired driving and failure to stop at the scene of a collision.
