UPDATE: 2day FM Father Daughter Ball raises nearly $69,500 for hospital foundation

UPDATE: The final numbers have been tallied and this year’s 2day FM Father Daughter Ball brought in $69,476. 2day FM would like to thank all of its sponsors and guests for making the event the most successful yet.

The 5th annual 2day FM Father Daughter Ball has helped raise over $50,000 for the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation. Around 150 father and daughter couples took part in the Saturday night event, presented by Reed Energy Group.

Senior Development Officer with the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation Dawn Miller says she still struggles with how generous the community at large is when it comes to lending a helping hand.

“Just the gratitude I feel when everybody just comes to the place and donates all the time. Grande Prairie always does that, and it just warms your heart to see them doing it over and over again.”

Miller says she knows many families in the Grande Prairie area who circle the calendar when it comes to the Father Daughter Ball.

“Some of them are planning this all year. They know the date is, they know what dress they’re going to wear; it’s so cute.”

2day FM’s Toni Dumais says the hours put in behind the scenes are well worth seeing the smiles on the faces of people as the night went on.

“As a team, we worked really hard on it, and to come to see it play out like this is just fantastic.”

A full total, including funds raised as part of both silent and live auctions, is expected to be released by October 22nd.
