“Makin’ It Work” set for second season

It’s a show for entrepreneurs, featuring entrepreneurs. Eastlink Community TV has kicked off the second season of its original program “Makin’ It Work”, a show designed to spotlight local businesses and success stories from the Grande Prairie area.

“We’re very excited to be broadcasting this series for a second season and have really enjoyed working with and getting to know the 33 local businesses featured on the show,” says Eastlink Sales and Marketing Manager Krystina Colicchio.

The season premiere features a roundtable with some industry experts discussing what they feel works and doesn’t in the Peace Region.

President of the Grande Prairie Chamber of Commerce Tanya Oliver took part. She says it was a thrill to be able to have a conversation with a wider audience, allowing them to highlight the partnerships and collaborations that make Grande Prairie a success for small business owners.

“The partnerships are huge, and that is one of the main reasons I think that businesses and organizations thrive in Grande Prairie is working together and everybody is trying to help each other out,”

The City of Grande Prairie also had a representative on the panel. Senior Economic Development Officer for the City of Grande Prairie, Rebecca Leigh was there to break down some statistical barriers potentially facing up and coming creators.

“A lot of what I do is working with stats, data, trends and analysis, and really what I always try and bring it back to is what does this mean for me?” she explains. “We were joking in there that I didn’t bring my crystal ball with me, but trying to break down some of what we do know and some of those intangibles and what that could mean for the local economy in Grande Prairie.”

The season two premiere will air on October 20th at 8 p.m. on Eastlink Community TV.
