Rocque and Sturmay claim Alberta Junior Championship titles

Last year’s World Junior Ladies Curling Champion is working towards reclaiming that title after winning the Alberta Championships in Grande Prairie over the weekend.

Kelsey Rocque has completely rebuilt her team since last year, but was able to edge out Grande Prairie’s Janais Dejong 6-5 in the final.

In men’s junior curling, the Alberta Championship title went to Edmonton’s Karsten Sturmay, whose team also won by a single point over Team Thomas Scoffin.

Their final score Sunday afternoon was 4-3.

Both teams are headed to Cornerbrook, Newfoundland later this month to represent Alberta at the Canadian Junior Curling Championships.
