58-year-old snowfall record broken

A record amount of snow fell in Grande Prairie on Monday breaking a 58-year-old record. Environment Canada says 3.6 centimetres fell on October 7th, unofficially beating the previous record of 3.3 centimetres that fell in 1961.

Beaverlodge also set a new record for precipitation yesterday recording 5.4 millimetres of precipitation.
